As with many people during the late eighties Neville was bitten hard by the Acid House bug and dived head first into the burgeoning scene. After the obligatory few years partying in clubs, warehouses and fields he took up DJ’ing and opened the Mighty Atom record shop and label in Windsor. This path would ultimately lead to infamous Acid House disco Checkpoint Charlie where he was to became resident DJ alongside Mat Carter, sharing the bill with the likes of Laurent Garnier, Andrew Weatherall, Colin Dale, Craig Richards, Slam and many more. In 2006 Mighty Atom released its final 12”. Since then Neville has concentrated on releasing his own brand of deep, raw and jacking House on labels such as Clone and Dissident, as well as Rush Hour, Poker Flat, Tiny Sticks and Mule with Bulgarian Housemeister KiNK. He also records under various pseudonyms and as one half on electronic boogie duo Midnight Steppers. As a DJ Neville has played far and wide from sweaty basements in London and Moscow to the walls of an abandoned prison in Tallinn, visiting the main floors of Twilo, Berghain and Panorama Bar along the way. In the summer of 2009 Neville and his brother, renowned photographer Gavin Watson, published their book Raving ’89 through DJ History. A collection of photographs and tales from the year that House music and rave culture exploded.
