Lee Jones was born in Essex, England. He graduated from Leeds University with a degree in Film and Television and then moved to London where he had considerable success with the downtempo project Hefner. Then in 2002 he moved to Berlin to be with his German girlfriend. Inspired by the music he had heard in Berlin's clubs, he moved into a new production style and formed the group MyMy with friends Nicolas Höppner and Carsten Klemann.
With his MyMy colleagues often busy in their own pursuits, Lee has begun to give his solo work equal priority, and so we can expect his profile to grow with every release.
Along with his many years experience in production, Lee also brings musicality into his work. A pianist and guitarist, a composer and songwriter, Lee creates richly layered compositions which evenly balance groove and melody.
While Lee is more of a producer than a DJ, he began to play records alongside his MyMy colleagues, on tour and at their popular monthly party MyMy & Friends at Berlin's Watergate club, and soon found a passion for entertaining a crowd with the music that inspires his own productions.
