Copenhagen DJ and Producer Dan M (1981) was walking the streets of house music for a long time before he began spinning records in 2004. The first piece of recorded music he owned was a cassette tape of the 2-Live Crew album, Banned in the USA and during the beginning of the nineties when he was just 10 years old he used to listen to German radio specifically to catch house and techno tracks playing on the airwaves. Throughout his youth, his main influences was repeatedly House and Hip Hop music, which went on to form his musically tastes today. Although DJing was always a distant dream, Dan M didn't start spinning records until an old friend suggested that they teamed up and began playing small time for friends. Before the duo had a chance to become established a local club promoter gave them a chance with a primetime booking. Dan quickly became obsessed with mixing and that naturally lead him on to focus on House music. What started as small time DJ hobby just for drinks soon became a living and Dan M found himself spending all his time concentrating on music and gigs, living a life he had always dreamed of. Getting involved in the club scene throwing parties and club nights at various spots around Copenhagen gave the rookie DJ three to five slots a week and plenty of time to practice his skills.
From intimate spots to big room parties, Festivals and radio shows around Europe Dan M has played his deep and steady bouncing DJ sets. The already wide range of experience, a confident taste and a love for the long hour DJ sets made him the trust worthy DJ that he is today. Never compromising Dan sticks by the motto "make people move to the music that you like".
While being busy DJ'ing the urge to produce music grew and sooner or later Dan got him self what he needed to make the music that had been building up inside. As for influences Dan M sticks with the pioneers of house and techno music from Chicago and Detroit, Classic soul, Jazz, African rythms and hip hop. Dan always searches for the perfect groove wanting to make club tracks that can be used for all times depending on how the individual DJ use them.
